PT Candy-Espresso Clerk

We have an exciting position opening at our Uncle Giuseppe's Melville Store within our Candy and Espresso Department.  Our new hire will be responsible for serving our customers gourmet beverages and the sweetest candy on the Island!

Responsibilities

• This individual will greet customers in a friendly manner, taking candy and coffee drink orders from customers
• Will prepare and serve beverages according to our company recipes, ranging from simple to more complex drinks 
• Individual will run a register and be able to perform basic math functions
• The Candy Clerk will select and box gourmet candies as selected by customers.  Will also make chocolate coated/drizzled candy items for purchase
• Will promote and recommend menu options to customers
• Will be responsible for processing payments from customers
• Will be responsible for maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning equipment while on shift.  Will maintain communications with Department Manager on any faulty equipment or issues with departmental equipment
• Additional duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience working as a server or barista
• Prior experience working with candy is desired
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• A strong focus on customer service and satisfaction is required for this position
• Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot beverages
• Must be efficient and organized
• Maintain a clean work environment according to company standards, following all health and safety guidelines
• Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
