We are looking for a Process Engineer or Process Scientist to support the fabrication of microelectronic devices on silicon and III-V materials. You will work closely with product owners to develop, optimize and control manufacturing processes, while leading continuous improvement initiatives.


 


Your responsibilities:



  • Comply with and promote workplace health and safety measures;

  • Provide technical support for the fabrication processes of silicon devices, III-V photodiodes and laser emitters;

  • Actively participate in troubleshooting process-related issues and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions;

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by applying and promoting the Six Sigma methodology in all activities;

  • Develop, maintain and optimize automated process control mechanisms;

  • Participate in the development, qualification and transfer of processes to production;

  • Design, plan and carry out experimental studies to improve or develop manufacturing processes;

  • Communicate results through reports, presentations, and team discussions;

  • Establish and meet project timelines;

  • Train and support production personnel;

  • Comply with the documentation system, change-management process, quality policy, and new product introduction process;

  • Participate in the selection, acquisition, and qualification of new equipment;

  • Maintain an active technological watch on relevant fabrication processes and equipment;

  • Maintain a clean, organized and compliant work environment (including cleanroom standards);

  • Perform other related tasks, as needed.


 


Your qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (physics, electrical, chemical), physics or chemistry;

  • A master’s degree or additional relevant experience (an asset);

  • At least 1 year of experience in microelectronic device fabrication processes;

  • Knowledge of microfabrication processes (photolithography, metrology, wet etching, plasma etching, diffusion, CVD deposition, metallization, optical coatings, etc.);

  • Experience in plasma etching and in wet etching (an asset);

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and of statistical process control (green belt certification, an asset);

  • Experience in project management (an asset);

  • Strong organizational skills, rigor and ability to work effectively in a team environment;

  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written) to operate in a francophone work environment;

  • Excellent skills in English (spoken and written) for technical and international communications.
