Job Description

At the Tennis Department, the Teaching Assistant provides a supportive role to the lead Punahou Professional/Instructor with on-court responsibilities. The on-court Teaching Assistant’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the lead instructors with on-court responsibilities, supervision, and execution of the daily lesson plans.
  • Assisting the lead instructors with daily on-court instruction.
  • Take attendance daily.
  • Checking students in/out.
  • On-court set-up and break-down.


Position Details:

  • Work Year: 1.5 Months
  • School Year: Summer School 2026, June - July
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, Hours vary from 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
  • Hourly Rate: $25.00/Hour


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience playing competitive tennis.
  • Familiarity and agreement to abide by Punahou School's covid practices and protocols.

  • Serves as an ambassador for the school to families and in the community.
  • Fosters an environment in which students feel safe to investigate curriculum, discover the world in which they live and learn about themselves.
  • Effectively and appropriately communicates with peers, faculty, students, and parents and engages in positive collaboration with colleagues.
  • Experience working with younger children is preferred.
