Location: Woodward, Pennsylvania

JOB SUMMARY 

  • Our cooks are responsible for providing exceptional service and nutritional food to our campers, guests, and staff. Would be required to use a variety of industrial kitchen appliances to prepare foods.  

  • Must be able to follow basic instruction and multi-task to prepare the proper amount of food in a timely manner and properly clean the kitchen area after service.   

  • Kitchen - Main food service area for campers breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week  

  • Burger Grill - Secondary food service area service burgers and hot dogs for lunch and dinner throughout the week  

  • The Grind- Coffee service

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support programming leadership staff in executing the Woodward program standard for all campers 

  • Assist with the training and development of all staff.  

  • Carry out the Woodward Guest Services standards – Be Safe, Be Friendly, Be Helpful, Be Proud.  

  • Support operational departments in carrying out the Woodward mission in creating a safe and fun environment for all campers. 

  • Directs the production and serving of all food produced in the unit, including direction of all food handlers, servers and storerooms   

  • Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste, following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles. 

  • Execute daily production of all menu items for meals   

  • Prepare all food items according to predetermined recipes   

  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh   

  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients   

  • Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods   

  • Occasionally serve food   

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes   

  • Keeps the food service area organized and clean, both the front and back of house   

  • Replenish any supplies of items as needed   

  • Assist in maintaining daily HACCP logs and submit completed logs to the F&B Manager   

  • Assist with ensuring that all deliveries are properly received and stored   

  • Meet needs of guests and address any dietary needs as directed   

  • Operate in a fast-paced environment serving our guests  

  • Ensure all food lines are clean and well maintained   

  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and storage   

  • Ensure that all dishwashing areas are clean, organized and maintained throughout the day 

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ yrs of kitchen experience  

  • Must be 18 years of age or older   

  • Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position  and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting 

                                                                                                                                   

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • ServSafe Food Handler's Certificate   

 

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.   

  • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.   

  • Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.   

  • Primary on-site work location: Woodward, PA
