Overview:
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests at The Killarney Park Hotel and plays a vital role in delivering a warm welcome and outstanding guest service. This position involves managing check-ins and check-outs, responding to guest inquiries, and coordinating closely with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, and detail-oriented, upholding the hotel's exceptional standards at all times. This is a fixed term contract up to the end of October 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service Excellence
Greet and welcome all guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
Carry out efficient check-in and check-out procedures using the hotel's reservation system.
Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Ensure guest records and reservation details are accurate and up to date.
Front Desk Operations
Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence in a professional and courteous manner.
Handle guest reservations and room allocations, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
Maintain the reception area, ensuring it is clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
Process payments accurately and in line with hotel policies, including handling cash, credit cards, and billing queries.
Communication and Coordination
Liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to coordinate room readiness and guest requests.
Report any issues that may affect guest comfort or safety to the appropriate department immediately.
Ensure clear handovers between shifts, noting any special guest requests or incidents.
Guest Experience Enhancement
Promote hotel services and facilities, encouraging guests to dine in the restaurant, book spa treatments, or participate in local activities.
Provide local information and recommendations for dining, attractions, and entertainment.
Assist with special requests, including room upgrades, wake-up calls, luggage assistance, and transportation arrangements.
Administrative Support
Maintain accurate records of bookings, guest feedback, and incident logs.
Assist with administrative tasks such as printing, photocopying, and filing.
Monitor stock of reception supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
Health and Safety Compliance
Follow hotel policies regarding emergency procedures, safety, and hygiene standards.
Maintain awareness of fire evacuation routes and health and safety protocols.
Support a safe environment for guests and staff by reporting hazards or concerns promptly.
Working Hours:
As per the rota provided, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, in accordance with business demands.
Working Conditions:
This role requires standing for extended periods and working in a dynamic, guest-facing environment. The position demands a high level of professionalism, the ability to multitask under pressure, and strong interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional guest service.
