About this opportunity! 

 

We are looking for a Baseband Systems Developer to drive systemization and performance analysis of advanced 5G and future 6G radio features. You will contribute to system design, simulations, verification, and customer support in a global R&D environment.

 

What you will do:

  • Systemize Baseband features in Physical Layer and RRM (e.g., Beamforming, Massive MIMO, Carrier Aggregation, DSS)
  • Specify 5G/6G system functionality, including requirements, algorithms, use cases, and cross-feature interactions
  • Develop and maintain link-level and network-level simulations
  • Support system verification, analyze test results, and drive technical quality
  • Act as a technical reference, contributing to design discussions and mentoring
  • Support customer deployments and troubleshooting

What you will bring:

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of programming skills in C/C++, Java, MATLAB (Python an advantage)
  • Experience with system-level and link-level simulations
  • Strong background in Wireless communications theory
  • Solid understanding of 3GPP specifications
  • Solid understanding of  Cloud-native or virtualized RAN experience
  • Solid understanding AI/ML exposure in telecom systems
  • Ability to work independently and deliver in complex environments

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

 

The salary range for this position is

Ottawa: $101,500 - $133,350

 

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan (select if STV): Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
