Therapeutic Summer Camp Aide / Support Staff for Children with Special Needs
Peak Potential Therapy – Northfield, Ohio
Part Time or Full Time | Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM | Seasonal Role

About Us

Peak Potential Therapy provides high-quality therapeutic services for children with autism and related developmental needs. Our summer programs are designed to support social, behavioral, communication, and daily living skills in a structured, engaging, and supportive environment.

We offer two therapeutic summer camps and are seeking caring, dependable, and energetic individuals to join our team as Therapeutic Summer Camp Aides / Support Staff.


What You'll Do

  • Work under the direction of the Camp Lead to support daily camp activities
  • Provide academic, behavioral, and emotional support to campers with special needs
  • Work directly with children in a 1:1 or 1:2 support ratio
  • Help campers build skills in communication, social interaction, self-care, problem-solving, and behavior regulation
  • Prompt and reinforce safe, socially appropriate replacement behaviors
  • Assist with camper materials, organization, and activity preparation
  • Support a smooth, fun, and structured camp experience each day
  • Remain open to feedback and work collaboratively with the camp team

Important Role Expectations

This role includes supporting children with behavioral, emotional, and daily living needs. Staff should be prepared to:

  • Work with children ages 6 through 21
  • Support children who may display aggression, tantrums, self-injurious behavior, or toileting needs
  • Implement crisis intervention practices when needed, with training provided
  • Lift and or transport children if necessary
  • Communicate clearly and remain objective in challenging situations

Qualifications

  • Caring, dependable, and fun-loving attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Open and receptive to feedback
  • Ability to stay calm and engaged in a fast-paced environment
  • BCI and FBI background checks required

No prior training or certification is required upon hire.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Flexible part-time and full-time shifts available
  • Consistent summer hours, generally between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM
  • Free training by BCBA, SLP, and OT professionals
  • Valuable hands-on experience for future careers in ABA, speech therapy, occupational therapy, special education, and related fields
