We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team in a PRN capacity, supporting our residential (cottage), school, and clinic settings as needed. This role is essential in delivering comprehensive, trauma-informed care that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of youth in our programs.

The PRN RN will provide flexible coverage based on availability and organizational need, ensuring continuity of care across environments. This includes supporting daily nursing operations in residential, school settings, and/or clinic settings.


Key Responsibilities –Registered Nurse Per Diem

 

  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed nursing care to youth in residential, school, and clinic settings.
  • Conduct client assessments, triage, and ongoing health monitoring
  • Provide emergency response when indicated
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
  • Administer and manage client medications safely and in compliance with medical best practices and organizational policy
  • Provide health education to clients and parent/guardians based on identified needs, and deliver staff education on medication management, diagnoses, and delegated nursing tasks.
  • Support the physical and mental health of clients through evidence-based practices
  • Conduct Safety Assessments for clients who meet post restraint criteria

  • PRN (as-needed) role with flexible scheduling based on your availability
  • Coverage needs may occur between 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with optional weekend opportunities based on your availability.

Skill Based Qualifications

 

  • Illinois RN License in good standing
  • Ability to administer client medications as part of daily responsibilities 
  • Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable with EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and office equipment.
  • Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
  • Teamwork: Positive, respectful, and reliable in a team setting.
  • Experience preferred in pediatrics, mental health, or school nursing
