Exciting Opportunity: Physical Therapy Assistant- Pool

 

Location: 2600 Belmont Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19131

 

Your Impact: 

The Physical Therapy Assistant has the primary responsibility to administer physical therapy treatments to residents in accordance with the Physical Therapy treatment plan and the Physician’s prescription.  Records resident’s progress and discussions with the physical therapist on a regular basis.  Participates in the modification of treatment plans and assesses outcomes of treatment sessions. All essential job responsibilities will be executed in accordance with Inglis Administrative policies and compliance/ethics guidelines.  

 

What You'll Do:

Clinical Skills 

  • Demonstrates understanding of relevant neurological conditions and disease management strategies. 
  • Consults with the resident, caregivers, and family to obtain information about health, associated history, previous interventions, and associated outcomes and reports findings to the supervising therapist. 
  • Completes standardized tests and measures and reports findings to the supervising therapist for analysis and interpretation. 
  • Collaborates with the supervising therapist to develop the treatment plan. 
  • Implements treatment in accordance with physician/PT plan within 24-48 hours per MD/PT orders. 
  • Participates in routine Care Plan meetings to provide resident/family/IDT with updates and answer questions about status and goals. 
  • Responsible for ensuring safe use of rehab equipment including following manufacturer’s instructions, trouble-shooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs. 

Documentation 

  • Completes documentation elements that adhere to rules for professional practice act, and guidelines for regulatory and reimbursement agencies. 
  • Demonstrates competency in navigation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) including all components related to order entry, documentation of evaluation, progress notes, screens, and care plan updates. 
  • Completes resident billing in EMR daily. 

Communication/Customer Service Skills 

  • Employs effective and appropriate verbal, non-verbal, written, and electronic communications. 
  • Communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care is being provided to the residents and that resident goals are being achieved. 
  • Actively participates in meetings including Plan of Care and stand-up as assigned. 
  • Communicates with nursing to ensure that recommended plan of care related to PT goals is being properly delivered. 

Educational Responsibilities 

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies as required by the Pennsylvania licensing board. 

 

What We're Looking For:

An associate’s degree in physical therapy from a recognized and accredited institution is required.

Current Professional Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania is required.

At least one year of clinical experience preferred with outstanding clinical skills and/or exceptional interest in the treatment of individuals with neurologic conditions.

CPR certification required.

 

Pay Rate for this Role: $35/ hr
