Job Description

NorthEast Sportsfield-Rec is growing fast, and we’re looking for a driven, experienced Director of Natural Turf to help lead our expansion in athletic field construction and renovation. If you’re passionate about cool-season turf, sports field performance, and delivering top‑tier workmanship, this is your chance to shape a division from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead natural turf operations across Eastern Massachusetts
  • Oversee new field construction, renovations, and site work
  • Manage foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Train team members and ensure projects stay on time and on budget
  • Operate specialized equipment and apply fertilizers/pesticides
  • Handle irrigation installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Work both in the field and in the office using Microsoft Office, Teams, BlueBeam, and scheduling tools

What You Bring

  • B.S. in Turfgrass Science
  • 5+ years in a management role
  • 3+ years in turf maintenance and sports field construction
  • Strong agronomy knowledge of cool-season grasses
  • Experience with concrete/asphalt work, machinery, and truck/trailer operation
  • Massachusetts Pesticide License (Cat. 37), Hoisting Engineer License (2A/1C), valid driver’s license (CDL B preferred), DOT Medical Card
  • CSFM certification
