- Qualified KSDE Building Leadership License
- Previous administrative experience is preferred but not required

- Use of leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills, to manage assigned school so as to promote the educational development of each student
- Provides supervisory leadership for teachers and other employees, evaluates the efficiency of their services and reports such evaluations as necessary.
- Allocate resources to meet the educational needs of the teaching and building staff.
- Accepts a commitment to the success of each student in the building.
- Monitors student discipline by implementing policies in the student handbook.
- Advises the building principal on matters related to school organization to the end that all educational needs of students can be met within a racially integrated/balanced environment, and monitors all curricular and extra-curricular offerings in the school to ensure full opportunity for participation of all students regardless of their racial, economic or gender status.
- Implements Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school.

Primary Purpose
The assistant principal is directly responsible to the building principal for the general administration, supervision of staff and students, and curriculum programs in the building.
