Job Summary: The Teacher's Aide will assist teachers and other educational staff in delivering high-quality educational services to students. This role involves working directly with students, supporting their individual needs, and helping to create an inclusive and effective learning environment.


 


Location: St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist classroom teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and activities.

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.

  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.

  • Support students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or learning disabilities.

  • Prepare instructional materials and resources as directed by the teacher.

  • Monitor and document student progress and provide feedback to teachers.

  • Assist with the supervision of students during recess, lunch, and other school activities.

  • Perform administrative tasks such as grading, attendance, and record-keeping.

  • Participate in professional development and training sessions as required.

  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.


Qualifications:



  • Associate’s degree or higher required; or High School Education or equivalent with a CDA certification or actively working towards a CDA Certification required

  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.

  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in educational software.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

  • Ability to engage in physical activities with students as needed.
