    Position Overview

    Pipestone Area School District #2689 is seeking a passionate, creative, and student-centered educator to join our team as a full-time Elementary Art Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, foster a love for the arts, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can express themselves and grow as learners.

    This position plays a vital role in supporting the whole child through artistic exploration while contributing to a collaborative school culture focused on academic excellence, character development, and student success.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and deliver engaging, standards-based art instruction aligned with Minnesota State Standards
    • Foster creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression through a variety of artistic media and techniques
    • Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that supports all learners
    • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including those receiving interventions and enrichment
    • Integrate art across content areas when appropriate to support student-centered learning
    • Collaborate with colleagues to support a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework
    • Maintain accurate and timely student records, including grades, progress, and attendance
    • Actively participate in professional learning communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and ongoing professional development
    • Communicate effectively and positively with students, families, and staff
    • Support school-wide initiatives, events, and student supervision as needed
    • Contribute to a positive school culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and belonging
    • Collaboration with the other teachers, including the high school art teacher as well as other teachers to complete interdisciplinary lessons and assignments.  

    Qualifications

    • Valid Minnesota teaching license (or ability to obtain) with appropriate Art endorsement
    • Strong classroom management skills grounded in current best practices
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Experience or familiarity with educational technology and Student Information Systems
    • Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and reflective practice
    • Passion for working with elementary-aged students and supporting their social-emotional and academic growth
    • Willingness to engage in the broader school community and contribute beyond the classroom

    Supervision

    Reports directly to the Building Principal.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Certified staff are compensated according to the current master agreement.

    • Salary Range: $51,000 � $80,000 (based on experience and education)
