Payroll Clerk
Location: Columbus, GA
Salary Range: $37,440 annually || $18 hourly

Position Overview
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for administering payroll functions, providing administrative assistance to the Payroll Manager while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality.
The Payroll Clerk will act as a secondary point of contact for employees and management regarding payroll, timekeeping, and vacation times, while working closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely, including wage adjustments, overtime, deductions, and garnishments through ADP.
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, federal/state wage laws, and company policies.
- Maintain payroll records and prepare payroll reports for HR and leadership review.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Track and update employee leave records, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Serve as liaison between employees, supervisors, and HR regarding paid leave eligibility and return-to-work requirements.
HR Support & CBA Compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records in ADP.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes as related to payroll and leave.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Generate HR/payroll reports as needed for management and audits.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in payroll administration and/or leave management.
- Knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
