Role Summary:

The Central Processing Sterile Technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and storing surgical instruments and equipment. This role ensures the operating team has the tools needed for safe, effective patient care, directly supporting the perioperative process and overall patient safety

Hours:

  • Monday–Friday schedule

  • No nights, weekends, holidays, or call

What You’ll Do:

  • Clean, inspect, sterilize, and package instruments and equipment according to standards

  • Assemble instrument trays and maintain accurate labeling and storage

  • Operate sterilizers, washers, and related equipment safely and effectively

  • Monitor and maintain sterile supply inventory; check for outdated or compromised items

  • Support patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Communicate effectively with teammates, physicians, and other staff

  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant sterile processing work area

What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Prior experience in sterile processing preferred

  • CRCST certification preferred

  • Current BLS certification

  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting

  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or climbing

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs)

  • Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and sterilization equipment in a fast-paced environment
