- Supervises Student Health Services staff throughout the District.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of in-service programs and staff meetings for Student Health Services staff.
- Gives guidance and assistance to Student Health Services staff in providing direct services as well as preventive developmental health education to students and families.
- Work with appropriate administrators to identify Student Health Services staffing needs to accomplish program goals and to meet the needs of students.
- Orient the Student Health Services staff to the overall philosophy, policies, and procedures of the school health program.
- Monitor, coordinate, and evaluate the provision of health services necessary to meet individual student health needs essential in achieving education objectives.

The Director of Student Health Services provides leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of a comprehensive program of students health services for the District, in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas Nursing Practice Act and Nursing Peer Review Act, Board Policies, federal, state, and local health statutes and regulations. Participates in nursing policy formulation and decision-making.
