Bachelor of Social Work Internship



NYAP – School Based Internship: Lancaster, OH



National Youth Advocate Program is accepting internship applications for the Summer, 2026 and Fall, 2026 to our STAR (School Based) team for our Columbus region. In this role you will get hands on experience working with youth in schools. You will also rotate through various other therapeutic areas throughout the agency to gain insight on the communities and clients we serve. This opportunity is for students enrolled in a Bachelor of Social Work Program in an accredited College or University



Your Internship Experience may include: 




  • Working with outpatient mental health clients in the community, office, or school setting

  • Working in case management

  • Learning diagnostics assessments and treatment plans

  • Assessing and engages with youth

  • Observing interventions for youth

  • Interacting with caregivers, parents, foster parents, school staff, office staff and other mental health professionals

  • Learning documentation and paperwork.

  • Traveling daily, to provide services to youth and families



Minimum Qualifications




  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Social Work Program from an accredited College or University


    • An internship or field placement is a requirement by the institution.

    • Upon the completion of the internship, the individual would receive credit toward their pursued degree



  • You must be 21 years of age on the first day of your internship

  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.



Driving and Vehicle Requirements




  • Valid driver’s license

  • Reliable personal transportation

  • Good driving record

  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
