ACE Tutor 


Job Details 


Title: ACE Tutor


Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt, max of 17 hours per week


Reports to: Site Coordinator                                


Pay Grade: (Part-time grant funded) 


  High School graduate/GED: $10.00 


  Bachelor’s Degree and Certified: $25.00 


Dept./School: Elementary 


Primary Purpose: 


To assist and promote Aransas Pass ISD and Aransas Pass for Youth in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement and to provide elementary students with academic assistance in academic areas and enrichment activities for student’s social and emotional well-being. 


Qualifications: 


Required-High School Graduate/GED 


Preferred-College level student/College graduate 


Under direct supervision of the ACE Site Coordinator, tutors will perform the 


following tasks: 



  1. Utilize provided materials for tutoring services/enrichment activities.

  2. Conduct tutorials sessions/mini-lessons. 

  3. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.

  4. Assesses student progress. 

  5. Tracks and charts student progress.

  6. Encourage students to set and maintain standards for classroom behavior. 

  7. Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for ACE 


students to follow.



  1. Communicate frequently and honestly with the ACE coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern. 



  1. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media for fundamental student improvement in reading and math.  

  2. Maintains confidentiality of students.

  3. Provide enrichment and recreation leadership for ACE program students. 

  4. Foster students' self-esteem and motivation through positive interaction. 

  5. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. 

  6. Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify. 



  1. Assist in formulating, upholding, and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
