Engineer safer, smarter offshore processes for a more sustainable future.
At Worley, we’re delivering a more sustainable world. As a Senior Process Engineer (Offshore), you’ll lead basic and detailed engineering for offshore oil and gas platforms—bringing technical integrity, design safety, constructability, and multidisciplinary integration to life in some of the world’s most demanding marine environments.
Purpose of the role
You’ll work independently at a senior level to define and deliver the complete process scope for complex offshore facilities. From simulation and equipment sizing to P&IDs and HAZID/HAZOP, you’ll coordinate teams, validate deliverables, interface with vendors and site teams, and ensure compliant, sustainable solutions that perform from concept through commissioning.
Core responsibilities
- Own process engineering scope across basic and detailed design for offshore platforms (topsides & facilities).
- Lead and coordinate Level I & II engineers; review/approve process deliverables; manage hours and milestones.
- Develop process simulations and studies using HYSYS / ASPEN / METSIM (as applicable); perform balances and define operating cases.
- Prepare and maintain P&IDs, process datasheets, line lists and process design schedules; ensure alignment with the master project plan.
- Equipment sizing & specifications for compressors, pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, mechanical drivers and packaged equipment; lead vendor consultation and technical bid evaluations.
- Participate in HAZID/HAZOP; drive close‑out of actions and assure process safety by design.
- Interface effectively with multi‑discipline leads (Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation, Marine, Construction) to maintain workflows and resolve interdependencies.
- Support field design verification, construction queries, pre‑commissioning and commissioning inputs.
- Monitor scope changes/RFIs/technical deviations and recommend adjustments to protect safety, quality, schedule and cost.
- Contribute to proposal inputs (execution strategy, estimates, content) when required.
Skills & experience
- More than 12 years of process engineering experience in offshore basic and detailed design.
- Experience in offshore projects is mandatory (MUST).
- Proven experience across facilities such as topsides & facilities, subsea/offshore pipelines interfaces, marine risers, SURF, floating systems.
- Advanced capability in:
- Process modeling (HYSYS/ASPEN/METSIM) and simulation of offshore systems.
- Detailed process design (specs, datasheets, line sizing, hydraulics, control philosophies).
- Process safety participation (HAZID/HAZOP) and action management.
- Package engineering and vendor engagement for process/mechanical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican and international regulations and codes & standards, including ASME, API, TEMA, NFPA 101, IBC, NOMs/ASEA.
- High level of technical precision, judgment and documentation rigor; able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated multidisciplinary coordination, resource planning and budget‑hour management.
- Languages: English B2 minimum (speaking, reading, writing, technical communication); Spanish (native or professional proficiency).
Education: Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering (Master’s in Chemical Engineering preferred).
