    LOCATION:  Westview Lower Elementary School
    WORK YEAR:  2026-2027 School Year
    SALARY: Per FEA Contract

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with an endorsement in K-5 all subjects required, endorsement in Library Media (ND) preferred.
    • A Master's Degree in Library Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association or a master's level program in library and information studies preferred.
    • Three to five years of prior elementary teaching experience is preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures and methodology of effective teaching of students.
    • Experience with instruction on information and technology literacy skills, including the research process
    • Experience in evaluating and selecting print and digital resources
    • Ability to deliver and articulate oral presentations and written reports.
    • Ability to effectively analyze needs and problems objectively.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff, administration and the general public.
    • Must have the ability and proven record to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction.
    • Must be able to implement the state benchmarks in Library Media required.
    • Work with teachers to design and teach curriculum.
    • Work toward creating a literacy rich environment throughout the district by developing and administering an integrated school library media programDevelop curriculum and promote an engaging learning experience tailored to the individual needs of students.
    • Evaluate and "produce" information through the active use of a broad range of tools, resources, and information technologies.
    • Develop policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation, services, and facility use for a 21st century school library media program
    • Provide access to materials in all formats, including up-to-date, high-quality, varied literature to develop and strengthen the love of reading.
    • Provide students, educators, and staff with instructional materials that reflect current information needs.
