Job Description

SES Infrastructure Services, LLC is expanding its workforce and is seeking a Painter / Blaster to join our growing coatings team. This position is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying protective coatings to structural steel, equipment, tanks, and other industrial surfaces using blasting and painting methods. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands industrial coating standards, and prioritizes safety in every task.

This position will require traveling to various job sites.

Pay range: $24-29/hour plus per diem 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Perform abrasive blasting to clean and prepare surfaces according to required specifications.
  • Apply industrial coatings (e.g., epoxy, polyurethane, high solids) using spray, brush, and roller methods.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain conventional, airless, and plural component spray equipment.
  • Read and follow technical data sheets, work orders, and safety instructions.
  • Ensure coating thickness, coverage, and adhesion meet required standards and specifications.
  • Inspect and verify surface conditions prior to coating application.
  • Work safely at heights, on scaffolding, man lifts, or swing stages as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in material handling, masking, and surface preparation as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial blasting and painting.
  • Paint Certifications such as NACE or AMPP are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., SSPC, NACE) is a plus.
  • Ability to operate and maintain blasting and spray equipment.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.
  • Safety training certifications (e.g., man lift, fall protection, confined space entry) preferred.
  • US Passport is a plus 

 

Additional Qualifying Factors:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations.  The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.   Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
