IT Specialist, Northwestern Publishing House

Part-time, Hourly

SUMMARY

Northwestern Publishing House is the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod’s publisher located in the WELS Center for Mission and Ministry in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The mission of Northwestern Publishing House (NPH) is to develop and deliver biblically sound Christ-centered resources within the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and beyond.   

Northwestern Publishing House is seeking a part-time IT Specialist. As part of our information technology (IT) team you will daily support the work of connecting people with God’s Word through the publishing and distribution of quality Christian books and gifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this important role, you will work closely with other IT staff and will be responsible for supporting the work of NPH by providing:

  • PC, Mac, and systems support
  • Systems security
  • Network administration
  • Business information

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. However, the IT Specialist will work to develop the skills of those they interact with.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

An IT or business systems related degree or degree in progress along with the following experience is preferred:

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP or other SaaS ERP systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Experience with data exports, manipulation, and imports
  • Experience with Visual Basic for Applications
  • Experience with Crystal Reports

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong written and verbal communications skills are required to be successful in this position.

Ensuring accuracy in data and findings, applying solid analytical skills, drawing sound and actionable conclusions, and effectively communicating those conclusions are critical to success in this position.

The staff member is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The staff member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
