Job Description

At KWS Benelux B.V., we are committed to advancing sustainable and innovative plant breeding. For our expanding Hybrid Potato activities in Nagele, we are looking for a motivated Sr. Station Technician. In this role, you will support field and greenhouse operations and contribute to high‑quality potato, cereals and oilseed trials.



Your Responsibilities
Potato Trial Activities (30%)



  • Plan and coordinate potato field trials together with colleagues.

  • Support and participate in planting and harvesting activities.

  • Prepare and conduct assessments, counts and observations in the field.

  • Process and analyse potato samples.

  • Perform selection activities and accurately record findings.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Carry out agricultural field operations using tractors and machinery.

  • Guide and motivate a small team during seasonal tasks.


 


Other Activities (70%)



  • Support a wide range of tasks across trial fields, greenhouses and the farm.

  • Conduct assessments and observations on various crops.

  • Perform selection activities in cereals and oilseed crops.

  • Assist in preparing and performing crossing activities in the greenhouse.

  • Carry out harvesting and washing processes for obtaining potato true seeds.

  • Operate agricultural machinery for diverse field operations.


 


Your Skills & Experience



  • MBO-level education, preferably agricultural.

  • Basic agricultural knowledge.

  • Experience with GPS systems.

  • Ability to independently operate agricultural machinery.

  • Driving licence B and T, plus forklift certificate.

  • Good command of Dutch and English, spoken and written.

  • Comfortable working with computers, GPS systems and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel).

  • Strong communication skills and a hands-on mentality.

  • Ability to work effectively in an (international) team.

  • Accurate and able to work according to protocols.

  • Experience supervising and motivating others.
