Job Description

Essential Functions:

The Equipment Operator will work a maximum of 40 hours per week maintaining our dump yard. This person must be experienced in operating dozer’s, excavator, and backhoe. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment such as Dozer’s, Excavator & Backhoes and other machinery as assigned.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
  • Load, unload, and transport materials safely and efficiently
  • Assist with site preparation and yard cleanups.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job progress and safety issues
  • Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately

Success Factors:

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instruction
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-worker
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment

Experience and Education:

  • 1+ years of experience operating dozers, excavator and backhoes
  • Standard Driver License Required
  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
