Job Purpose
The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a strategic, operational, and execution-focused partner to the CEO across Packet Digital and Badland Batteries. This role enables the CEO to operate at maximum effectiveness by owning cross-functional initiatives, ensuring organizational alignment, driving strategic priorities, and amplifying executive decision-making. The Chief of Staff operates at the intersection of strategy, operations, communications, and culture-acting as an integrator, problem-solver, and force multiplier for the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Communications & Alignment
- Prepare CEO-level communications including presentations for conferences, board meetings, investor briefs, and internal strategic updates – coordinating across teams
- Ensure the executive team is aligned, informed, and operating efficiently through meeting prep, agenda design, and follow-through on action items.
- Act as a representative of the CEO in selected internal and external conversations. Take ownership for weekly company-wide updates.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration on CEO's priority strategic initiatives and resolve blockers that hinder progress (by developing collaborative relationships).
Operational Excellence
- Drive special projects, key proposals, cross-functional initiatives, and mission-critical operational improvements end-to-end.
- Partner with senior leadership to translate company strategy into operational plans and measurable end-to-end milestones.
- Make sure that important things don't get dropped; partner with the CEO to make her more effective.
- Oversee preparation for monthly manager meeting and quarterly planning; track progress on company goals, work with function leaders to prepare quarterly reports.
External Coordination
- Support CEO in managing outreach to high-value relationships with strategic partners.
- Oversee preparation and follow-through for critical external proposals, engagements, conferences, and meetings.
- Coordinate community engagement; provide factory tours (once you're up to speed).
Qualifications
Required
- 4-8+ years of experience in roles such as strategy, operations, program management, management consulting, product leadership.
- Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
- Exceptional written, PowerPoint and verbal communication skills, strong analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Strong business judgment, discretion, and the ability to act with executive presence.
- Excellent executive functioning – able to manage multiple company-critical initiatives and deliver them on time.
Preferred
- Experience working directly with or supporting C-level executives.
- MBA or relevant advanced degree.
