Turning Point, Inc. is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and organized Housing Assistant to join our residential team at a Board & Lodge facility. This vital role supports the day-to-day operations of the house and provides structure, accountability, and encouragement to residents as they work toward independent living. 


Work Schedule

Saturdays and Sundays: 8am - 4pm (1st shift)


What You’ll Do:

 As a Housing Assistant, you’ll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment for residents in recovery. You'll:

  • Support clients with daily routines, house rules, and recovery goals
     
  • Help manage meals, chores, and check-ins/check-outs
     
  • Keep clear shift notes and incident reports
     
  • Respond calmly to crises and follow safety protocols
     
  • Work closely with the housing team to keep things running smoothly

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or certifications in housing, recovery, or human services are a plus)
  • Understanding of addiction recovery, mental health, and trauma-informed care
  • Need to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life
  • Genuine empathy and a non-judgmental attitude toward clients in recovery
  • Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced, structured environment
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort with electronic health records
  • Familiarity with confidentiality standards and ethical documentation practices
  • Confidence in handling challenging situations calmly and respectfully
  • Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license
  • Ability to navigate stairs and perform light physical tasks
  • CPR and Narcan certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with culturally specific treatment services or diverse populations
