Summary



The Material Handler I, Foam position is responsible for skillfully cutting and gluing foam and fiber to fill covers and enhance furniture and cushions. This role demands a careful and precise approach to ensure that the upholstered pieces meet the highest quality and aesthetic standards.



During the foam gluing process, the Material Handler I, Foam position must use a variety of hand tools. These include, but are not limited to, tools for cutting, molding, gluing, and stretching furniture materials. Additionally, this position requires a strong understanding of various foam types and their applications, as well as the ability to interpret and perform design specifications accurately. The ideal candidate must also maintain an eye for detail to ensure seamless finishes and durability in the final product.Top of Form

  • Skillfully and safely utilize hand tools for molding, cutting, gluing, and stretching furniture materials

  • Ensure strict adherence to high safety standards throughout the foam process

  • Play a crucial role in maintaining structural integrity of upholstered furniture

  • Display a careful and detailed approach, highlighting precision and attention to detail in each project

Key Qualifications





Physical Requirements




  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying noise levels

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to the duration of the entire shift

  • Must be able to carry/lift a minimum of 15 Ibs or up to 50 Ibs

  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities

  • Required to safely use a wide variety of Upholstery trade machinery and tools e.g. Band saw, hand cutter, spray glue guns, etc.

  • Able to wear face mask while working
