Job Description

FLSA Status: Exempt


Classification:  Administrative Support


Immediate Supervisor: Print Services Specialist (Print Duties) and Secondary Curriculum Specialist (Curriculum Duties)


 


Job Summary:  This position is responsible for assisting with the functions of the District Print Shop and coordinating the ordering, inventory, and distribution of instructional materials including textbooks and academic manipulatives for Waterloo Community School District schools. The position operates print production equipment, supports print job workflow, and assists with consultation to staff regarding printing needs.


This role also coordinates curriculum material distribution, maintains inventory systems, orders supplies and equipment, prepares purchasing and financial documentation, and collaborates with curriculum staff to ensure instructional materials are delivered accurately and efficiently across the district.


 


Hiring Specifications:


Education



  • High school diploma required

  • Post-secondary coursework or Associate’s degree preferred


Certification



  • Forklift or equipment operation certification helpful but not required


Experience



  • Materials distribution, inventory management, or related clerical/operational work required

  • Experience operating print production equipment preferred (but not required)

  • General knowledge of print production processes and equipment

  • Knowledge of inventory tracking and materials distribution systems

Technology Requirements



  • Basic computer skills (computer navigation, email, web browser, Employee Portal)

  • Intermediate computer skills (Google Suite, document sharing platforms, spreadsheets, inventory systems)

  • Ability to learn district systems for print requests, inventory tracking, and ordering processes

  • Ability to reach all skill levels listed if not already acquired

Job Duties:



  • Operates and programs print production equipment including digital copiers, wide-format printers, envelope printers, laminators, and bindery equipment.

  • Reviews files and print requests to ensure correct formatting and production specifications.

  • Performs basic maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of printing equipment.

  • Orders textbooks, science manipulatives, math manipulatives, and other instructional materials for district schools.

  • Barcodes, inventories, and distributes instructional materials to schools throughout the district.

  • Maintains accurate inventory records and distribution documentation.

  • Consults with teachers and staff regarding printing needs and instructional materials production.

  • Assists in researching and evaluating new printing equipment and services.

  • Maintains purchasing documentation and financial records related to curriculum materials.

  • Coordinates delivery and distribution of materials to district buildings.

  • Assists in providing training or guidance to staff regarding print submission procedures or equipment use.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
