Job Description

Job Overview:

The Senior Metallurgist is responsible for overseeing and managing complex 
metallurgical projects in metal processing plants, parঞcularly for gold, silver, and copper. This 
posiঞon requires advanced technical experঞse in metallurgical processes and leadership in 
the commissioning of metallurgical plants and pilot plants. The role demands leadership skills, 
personnel management, as well as the ability to work in remote locaঞons and frequent travel. 

 

Responsibiliঞes: 
Supervision of Metallurgical Processes: 
o Manage and opঞmize metallurgical processes in gold, silver, and copper 
processing plants, ensuring maximum efficiency and performance. 
o Develop and oversee advanced metallurgical test plans, uঞlizing experঞse in 
leaching, flotaঞon, and other hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical 
techniques. 
Leadership and Personnel Management: 
o Lead and supervise teams in metallurgical plants, providing technical guidance 
and promoঞng a collaboraঞve and safe working environment. 
o Develop training and conঞnuous improvement programs for technical 
personnel. 
Plant Commissioning: 
o Oversee and acঞvely parঞcipate in the commissioning of metallurgical plants 
and pilot plants, ensuring all operaঞons meet specificaঞons and quality 
standards. 
o Coordinate with engineers and technicians to ensure the proper funcঞoning of 
equipment and opঞmizaঞon of processes during startup phases. 
Metallurgical Laboratory: 
o Plan, execute, and supervise laboratory metallurgical tests, ensuring results are 
accurate and scalable to plant operaঞons. 
o Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulaঞons in the laboratory. 
Travel and Remote Work: 
o Willingness to travel and work in remote locaঞons, managing projects and 
providing technical support to off-site plants and laboratories. 
Communication and Reporting:

o Prepare technical reports and present analysis on process performance, 
including recommendaঞons for conঞnuous improvement. 
o Effecঞvely communicate in English and interact with internaঞonal teams. 


Experience: 
o 10 or more years of experience in metallurgical processes, preferably in gold, 
silver, and copper. 
o At least 5 years of experience in metallurgical laboratories, conducঞng rouঞne 
and advanced tests. 
o Demonstrated experience in the commissioning of metallurgical plants and 
pilot plants. 
Leadership Skills: 
o Proven ability to manage and lead teams in challenging environments. 
o Excellent interpersonal and personnel management skills. 
Other Requirements: 
o Ability to travel and work in remote locaঞons as needed. 
o Intermediate to advanced English proficiency, with the ability to effecঞvely 
communicate in technical internaঞonal seমngs.
