Job Description

School of Social Sciences - Vision Editors

Employment Type Student Employee
Hourly Rate 7.25

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

To serve as one of the editors of the student newspaper, the Belmont Vision.

Must be willing to work some nights and weekends, depending on need.

Assigning and editing stories prior to publication, as well as doing some of the writing, reporting, etc.

Reporting, writing, editing or producing copy, video or audio for the Vision. Editors must also work with new staff members.

Building relationships and communicating with the Vision’s constituencies on various topics relating to the paper.

Other duties may include managing marketing and advertising and preparing graphics material related to those.

Required QualificationsEditors must have proficiency in several or all of these areas: writing, reporting, AP style, layout, design, graphics, photography, multimedia production.
  
Required EducationMust be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University. 
  
Required ExperienceEditors must have prior experience working with the Vision. Additional experience in journalism through jobs and internships is helpful.
