- Physical presence is an essential function of this job.
- Transports students over specified route according to time schedule. Transports students and school personnel to school-related activities.
- Transports only authorized students and school personnel.
- Maintains discipline on bus and reports any student misconduct to school principal.
- Performs daily mechanical checks of oil, gas, tires, lights, doors, and radio. Monitors mileage and fuels bus when needed. Prepares work order if repairs or service is needed.
- Reports to bus garage for needed repairs and scheduled maintenance.
- Washes exterior of bus and cleans interior including windows, seats, roof hatches, and floors.
- Must check bus after each run for items left behind or children sleeping.
- Immediately notifies supervisor if you become insulin dependent or license becomes revoked or suspended.
- Must have in possession when operating bus: proper license, DOT certificate, vehicle registration, daily bus inspection sheet, and vehicle insurance information.
- Keeps current student roster and daily bus inspection form.
- All paperwork should be turned into supervisor.
- Attends annual state training and other in-services as required.
