Job Description

Location: Winnipeg

Status: Full-time, Permanent

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Hours: Tuesday to Friday 7 am to 530 pm  

Position Summary: 

The ideal candidate will have background in manufacturing, food science, or the food industry who are eager to grow their technical skills. Operators are responsible for running processing equipment, monitoring day-to-day production activities, and ensuring products meet established quality and safety standards. This role requires a mechanically inclined individual who is comfortable with hands-on work, learning how to adjust machine parameters, and performing basic troubleshooting. Training will be provided on equipment, quality testing methods, and company-specific procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate processing line equipment efficiently and safely while following standard operating procedures.
  • Perform routine quality checks (e.g., pH, density, viscosity, color, Brix, etc.) to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Record and maintain accurate production and quality data.
  • Assist in equipment setup, adjustments, and minor troubleshooting during production.
  • Monitor and understand machine parameters, pressure sensors, valves, and flow meters to support consistent operations.
  • Use basic tools (e.g., adjustable wrench / spanners, ect.) to assist with adjustments and light maintenance.
  • Follow cleaning and sanitation procedures to maintain food safety standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying and reporting issues that affect quality, efficiency, or safety.
  • Flexibility to train on multiple pieces of equipment and assist where needed across the production floor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food and beverage manufacturing / production environment would be considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in food science, manufacturing technology, or related field is an asset, but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to understand and adjust machine parameters.
  • Comfortable performing basic quality testing procedures (training provided).
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work safely in a regulated environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, data entry); experience with ERP systems is an asset.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Willing and able to work various shifts as required by production schedules.
  • Demonstrates a strong dedication to maintaining high standards of work quality and adhering to safety protocols while also working as part of a team
