Position Summary
The Institutional Research Analyst (IRA) supports Walsh University’s institutional research, assessment, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and reporting institutional data. This position assists with federal and external reporting, institutional surveys, course evaluations, and institutional dashboards. The analyst works collaboratively with academic and administrative offices to support accreditation, strategic planning, program review, and data-informed decision making across the University. The IRA should positively represent the Walsh University at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collect, manage, and analyze institutional data to support research, assessment, program review, and institutional effectiveness initiatives.
- Prepare data for federal and external reports (e.g., Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System) and contribute to routine publications such as the Common Data Set and Fact Book.
- Develop and maintain reports and datasets to enhance data accessibility and support decision-making.
- Manage the course evaluation system, support survey administration (e.g., National Survey of Student Engagement), and assist with data analysis and reporting.
- Maintain the Institutional Effectiveness website, ensure data accuracy across university publications, and support routine reporting and ad hoc data requests.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must demonstrate an understanding the Walsh University Statement of Faith and a commitment to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Catholic intellectual tradition. Must also possess the following:
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting in higher education or a similar environment.
- Proficiency with data management and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, databases, or statistical software).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly in reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators across campus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, higher education administration, social sciences, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in institutional research or higher education data analysis, including collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support planning, decision-making, and compliance.
Skills and abilities:
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
