Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Locust Grove Primary as a full-time Special Education Teacher. In this role, you will work with students who have diverse learning needs, creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic growth and social development. You will collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and foster a positive learning experience for all students.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress towards IEP goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support at home.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
- Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the school and community.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education services.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field;
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education or willing to obtain
- Experience working with children with diverse learning needs, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the field of special education.


**Salary Scale based on the 2025-2026 school year
