Position: Yard Driver
Job Summary
Operate a yard truck, and move trucks and trailers in and around the yard of the manufacturing facility. Ensure equipment and cargo are in good working order. Provide outstanding customer service and adhere to all industry safety standards and regulations.
Pay: $20
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
7:00am - 3:00pm
Responsibilities
- Docking and repositioning of trailers.
- Moving semi-trailers within a cargo yard environment.
- Inspecting both tractors and containers to ensure smooth maneuvering of all equipment and product
- May be asked to use other equipment such as forklift
- May be asked to assist in manually offloading and loading product or equipment
- Perform yard checks
- Clean out empty trailers
- Fill out necessary delivery forms and paperwork
- Use chocks and glad locks to ensure safety when unloading trailers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record
- NO CDL-A required
- Previous experience with operating a switcher truck preferred
- Previous experience driving a day cab preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential.
- Must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability is a must.
Physical Demands
- Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
- Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds at times as well as bend, climb, reach, & rotate as needed.
