The Lubin School of Business at Pace University is seeking an adjunct instructor for our onsite offerings in BUS101 (Contemporary Business Practice) which covers basic business concepts. BUS101 is a business core course at the University and includes students, typically freshmen, who major in business. The ideal candidate will cover a range of business concepts and skills in the classroom, including accounting, management, marketing and financial principles.  Applicants must also demonstrate significant work experience in the corporate, government or nonprofit sectors. Successful candidates for this position will reflect the school’s commitment to excellence in teaching and service. The Adjunct faculty will earn a competitive salary and have access to professional development workshops, computer resource centers, library, and research resources, and much more. ABOUT THE COURSE BUS101: This interdisciplinary course will introduce students to the functions of business and their interrelationships. Students will work in teams to run simulated companies. Development of business writing and speaking, presentation and data analysis skills will be emphasized. BUS 101 is required as part of the Business Core for all business majors (with the exception of Public Accounting majors). Transfer students and continuing Pace non-business students who have completed 35 credits or more at the time of their admission or change of major to a Lubin program will be exempt from BUS 101.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold a graduate degree in Business.
  • Have prior experience in one or more business disciplines.
  • Be available to teach courses on NYC or Pleasantville campuses during the weekday daytime hours at least two days per week.  For example, MW 9-10:25 or TR 1:20-2:45

We are currently seeking experience in the information systems, accounting, finance, marketing or management fields. Possess excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. College teaching experience at introductory levels and/or corporate experience is recommended.?  Those with PT consulting activities are encouraged to apply.
