Reports To: Converting Manager

Job Summary:

The Bag Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a bag/pouch machine used to produce the finished products. This role requires a high level of technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Operation: Operate the bag machine according to the specifications provided in the job orders following all standard operating procedures.
2. Packaging: Package finished products to customer specifications provided in the job orders, ensuring consistency and quality in all packaging jobs following all standard operating procedures.
3. Labeling: Accurately label packaged products according to standard operating procedures. 
4. Palletizing: Organize packaged products on pallets according to job order specification/standard operating procedures.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with other production staff to ensure the machine is ready for each job.
6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of machine operations for future reference and inventory management.
7. Ensure the quality of product by following area procedures and filling out appropriate documentation records.
8. Ensure the safety and legality of product by being aware of and complying with food safety policy.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a production environment, preferably as a bag machine operator.
• Knowledge of bag machine operation and packaging processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods.
