Employment with Ridgefield School District is conditional on: 

  • An approved criminal background clearance through OSPI, Washington State Patrol, and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation
  • Drug/Alcohol screening
  • Completion of an Employment Eligibility Verification form (USCIS Form I-9) presenting proof of identity and employment authorization status
  • Completion of all district-required training within sixty (60) calendar days from hire date

Continued employment expectations include: compliance with all District policies and procedures, Code of Professional Conduct, and all applicable state and federal laws; maintaining consistent presence at assigned worksite, regular work hours, punctuality, and regular attendance; maintaining any certifications that were required upon hiring; completing annual required training in accordance with District requirements; and obtaining or maintaining a CPR and First Aid Card, if required.

Employee Services Senior Specialist
Department/School: Central Services / Employee Services
Reports To: Executive Director of Employee Services
Work Year: 260 days
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 annually

Position Summary
This role supports the day-to-day experience of district employees by helping manage
benefits, leave processes, and key compliance responsibilities with accuracy and care. It
serves as a trusted point of contact for staff, providing guidance on benefits and
employment requirements while ensuring records, certifications, and assignments are up
to date and aligned with state and district standards. The position also plays an important
role in onboarding, substitute coordination, and system management, helping keep
processes organized and running smoothly. Overall, this work helps create a consistent,
responsive, and well-supported environment for employees across the district.

Job Duties
May include, but are not limited to:
● Administer FMLA, PFML, Workers’ Compensation, and medical leave processes.
● Administer benefit enrollment, eligibility and changes.
● Serve as liaison to SEBB/HCA and other benefit vendors.
● Respond to employee questions regarding health, dental and vision benefits.
● Maintain benefit records and reconcile vendor invoices.
● Support benefits and leave-related audits.
● Serve as system expert for Skyward, Vector, PD Enroller, ECert and related HR
platforms.
● Oversee required Vector training compliance for all employees.
● Support onboarding logistics that include Skyward entry and Laserfiche scanning.
● Create and compile 1095 reports annually.
● Support the archiving logistics.
● Track paraeducator certification compliance.
● Coordinate and conduct substitute setup and intake.
● Track certification, endorsements, salary placement and assignment compliance.
● Provide additional support and perform other duties as assigned to support
Employee Services.
● Model appropriate professional behaviors and practices in work settings;
demonstrate our district’s core values of integrity, kindness, and collaboration.
● Follow all Board policies and procedures, including behaviors consistent with Policy
5161: Civility in the Workplace
● Ensure that all public-facing communications reflect the pride, dedication, and
common purpose of our districtwide team
● Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Strong understanding of employee leaves and benefits (FMLA, PFMLA, Worker’s
Comp, SEBB, and related compliance).
● Understanding of certification, endorsement, assignment, and evaluation
requirements for Washington public schools.
● Strong communication skills and professional judgment when interacting with staff,
administration, and the public.
● Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Skyward, Red Rover, and EDS.
● Experience managing public records requests and maintaining compliance with
confidentiality regulations.
● High-level organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple,
deadline-driven projects.
● Ability to maintain detailed records and interpret data for reporting and audit
purposes.
● Competency in document preparation, including business writing, editing, and
formatting.
● Commitment to maintaining a collaborative and respectful work environment.

Required Qualifications
● Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
● Minimum three (3) years of experience in human resources, personnel
administration, or a closely related area.
● Demonstrated ability to manage certification and/or assignment tracking systems.
Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field;
graduate degree in any field.
● Experience in a K–12 public school district setting.
● Familiarity with OSPI certification requirements and S-275 reporting protocols.
● Bilingual/Biliterate preferred: Spanish/English, Russian/English, or Ukrainian/English
