PRA K-12 School Additional Information: Show/Hide - Safely transport students and staff to and from school-sponsored athletic events and activities.
- Operate PRA small vehicle buses in compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain assigned vehicles in clean and safe operating condition.
- Follow established procedures for reporting vehicle defects, maintenance issues, accidents, or incidents.
- Promote and demonstrate high standards of safety and professionalism.
- Maintain appropriate supervision of students and ensure orderly conduct during transportation.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures, including fire, accident response, medical emergencies, and lockout/lockdown protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, and transportation needs.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, including mileage logs, trip documentation, time records, and incident reports as required by law and PRA policy.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, coaches, parents, and administrators.
- Follow policies established by the Prospect Ridge Academy Board of Directors, Adams 12 School District transportation guidelines (as applicable), and Colorado State-mandated regulations, except where PRA has received waivers.
- Ensure PRA policies are observed during all transportation activities.
- Exhibit good judgment, appropriate language, and behavior while on assignment.
- Remain on duty for the entire assigned trip, including waiting periods during events as required.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License required (CDL not required).
- Established a good driving record as determined by PRA.
- Successful completion of Adams 12 Transportation Department small vehicle bus training prior to driving.
- Ability to meet all applicable requirements of the Colorado "Rules for the Operation of School Transportation Vehicles" (1CCR-301-26), as applicable.
- Previous experience driving students or working with youth is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to maintain student safety and appropriate behavior during transport.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret policies, safety procedures, and written instructions.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to complete required documentation accurately.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability and skill to use sound judgment as determined by the specific situation.
Knowledge of and adherence to approved communication pathways.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent sitting for extended periods while operating a vehicle.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as necessary.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work is regularly performed outdoors with possible exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

The Activities Bus Driver (Substitute/On-call) is responsible for safely transporting students and staff to and from athletic events, extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school-sponsored functions using PRA small vehicle buses. This position supports school programs by ensuring safe, timely, and professional transportation services while upholding Prospect Ridge Academy's mission and values.
This position does not require a CDL; however, completion of the required small-vehicle bus training through the Adams 12 Transportation Department is mandatory before driving.

Compensation
Pay: $20.42 per hour
Status: Part-Time, Substitute/Temporary (As Needed)
