Job Description

Excelcare at Newark is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Central Supply Clerk / Medical Records to join our team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys supporting both resident care operations and administrative compliance.

Central Supply Clerk/Medical Records Responsibilities:

Central Supply Duties

  • Maintain inventory of nursing and resident care supplies

  • Order, receive, stock, and distribute supplies facility-wide

  • Monitor supply levels and restock nursing units as needed

  • Organize storage areas and maintain clean supply rooms

  • Receive deliveries and verify packing slips/invoices

Medical Records Duties

  • Maintain resident medical records in compliance with facility policy

  • Prepare, scan, file, and audit resident charts for accuracy

  • Ensure records are organized, secure, and easily accessible

  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and chart maintenance

  • Monitor physician orders, signatures, and missing documentation

  • Support chart audits and compliance reviews

  • Maintain confidentiality of resident health information in accordance with HIPAA

 

Central Supply Clerk/Medical Records Qualifications

  • Prior experience in medical records, central supply, healthcare administration, or long-term care preferred

  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or healthcare setting strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical record filing practices preferred

  • Familiarity with supply ordering, inventory control, and storage processes preferred

  • Basic computer skills required, including experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
