Operations Administrator

We are seeking a detailed and process-oriented individual to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Operations. The Operations Administrator will accurately process and support a range of banking transactions and activities providing responsive, timely and accurate support and service.

 

About the Team

Butterfield’s Banking Operations team supports millions of financial transactions globally across all of our banking locations. Our customers include personal bank account holders, corporate and wealth clients. Banking Operations is a fast-paced environment, where quality and accuracy are at the core of the team’s everyday activities.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing Banking Operations activities as they relate to customer verification, data input and filing.
  • Consistently meeting timelines and SLAs for Banking Operations.
  • Working in accordance with Bank and departmental standards, policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and processing wire payment instructions for customers.
  • Coordinating with internal colleagues, custodians, brokers and other counterparties.
  • Preparing, tracking and submitting timely reports for periodic and ad-hoc tasks, as assigned.
  • Providing support to the investigations unit by researching and solving issues to ensure the timely resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Reconciling data, responding to queries and liaising with counterparties.

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • Post-secondary education. 
  • Previous experience in banking, financial services operation, or similar industries considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with a focus on providing quality customer service.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Willing to adjust working hours and work some public holidays to ensure seamless service delivery across our locations.
  • Processing transactions with confidential information with absolute discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications and willingness to learn new technology and applications.
  • Previous experience working with core banking system, Electronic Delivery Interface and SWIFT network would be considered an asset.
