1. JOB DESCRIPTION
The inspection technician will be responsible for both in-process inspections and final inspections of items produced within our own shop as well as work completed by subcontractors. The inspection technician will also be available to employees to serve as an auditor of first piece and select machined features that are deemed critical for product performance.
2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiarity with inspection equipment available for use, the typical use of each measurement instrument and/or related set masters, and how to properly use available inspection equipment.
- Use hand gauges and handheld equipment to check the dimensional accuracy of the product.
- Use coordinate measuring machinery (including programming) to check the dimensional accuracy of the product.
- Provide documentation of inspected values either by hand notes, or by electronic data entry. Documentation may be in-process, final inspection, or pre-shipment customer certifications.
- Assist with monitor gauge certifications.
- Communicates with shop personnel and supports their operations through inspection and assists with troubleshooting machining issues.
- Read and understand blueprints, including geometric dimension and tolerancing (GD+T) to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the product.
- Adhere to documented procedures and processes; in particular, those procedures and policies outlined within ISO 9001 certification.
- Work in a team environment and remain flexible to perform other duties to support daily operations, when needed.
3. REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment using measurement tools
- Soft Skills: Problem solving, analytical, teamwork, motivation adaptability skills.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 a plus
- Proven record of dependability and professional demeanor
- Understanding and adherence to safety guidelines
- Ability to read and write English language
- Must be willing to work OT when needed
