Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Interstate Power Systems is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at our Billings, Montana location. This role focuses on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel-powered trucks and equipment, supporting a wide range of customer applications. This position also participates in an on-call rotation approximately every four weeks.

Position Overview

As a Diesel Technician at Interstate Power Systems, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs on diesel engines, trucks, and equipment. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure customer equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, trucks, and related equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Complete accurate repair documentation and service reports
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and company procedures
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers when needed
  • Participate in the rotating on-call schedule (every 4 weeks) to support customer uptime needs

Qualifications

  • Previous diesel technician experience with trucks and/or heavy equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and emissions components
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards
  • Valid driver�s license and ability to safely operate customer equipment
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
