Material Handler – Thermoforming Manufacturing
Summary:
Facilitates the efficient flow of raw materials and finished products throughout all stages of the thermoforming manufacturing process. Ensures production lines are consistently supplied and that materials and products are handled safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Move materials throughout the facility using a forklift, truck, pallet jack, or other manual/motorized equipment.
Deliver raw materials (plastic, boxes, pallets, etc.) to thermoforming lines and staging areas as needed.
Pack, wrap, and prepare boxes or other materials for shipment, ensuring appropriate documentation and return labels are attached.
Maintain and organize storage and inventory areas.
Communicate material and inventory levels to the Production Manager in a timely manner.
Dispose of plant waste and transport garbage to designated dumpsters.
Cross-train within the department to provide support as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
Ability to safely and effectively operate a forklift (must be forklift-certifiable).
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Equipment Use:
Forklift and other material-handling equipment (must meet certification requirements).
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to:
Extreme temperatures (heat/cold)
High noise levels
Must adhere to all safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
