Position Summary

The Focal Lead /Manager acts as the central technical and operational authority for all manufacturing activities related to cabinet integration in control system/ fiels instrumentation / Analyzer projects. This role ensures seamless coordination between design, production, procurement, quality, and project management teams, driving efficiency, compliance, and innovation in the manufacturing process. The engineer is responsible not only for execution but also for strategic improvement of manufacturing practices to meet evolving industry demands.

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Leadership

  • Serve as the single point of contact for cabinet integration activities across multiple projects.
  • Plan, monitor, and control cabinet assembly schedules to align with project milestones.
  • Supervise technicians and assembly teams, providing hands-on guidance during wiring, installation, and integration.

2. Technical Authority

  • Interpret and validate engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs for manufacturing.
  • Ensure correct application of electrical standards (IEC, UL, NEC) and customer-specific requirements.
  • Provide technical solutions for design-to-manufacturing challenges, including component substitutions and layout optimizations.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce inspection protocols for wiring, labeling, and cabinet layout.
  • Support in Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Lead root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain compliance documentation for audits and certifications.

4. Procurement & Supply Chain Integration

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to identify, source, and secure manufacturing-related components, materials, and tools.
  • Review vendor quotations, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective sourcing aligned with technical specifications.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality compliance.
  • Ensure availability of critical components to avoid production delays and manage inventory levels during ramp-up.
  • Provide technical input to procurement for supplier selection and component qualification.

5. Process Optimization

  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Enforce standardized work instructions and checklists for cabinet assembly.
  • Evaluate and implement automation tools.
  • Benchmark best practices from industry and integrate them into workflows.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with procurement, design, and project management teams to align manufacturing deliverables with contractual obligations.
  • Support design engineers with feedback for design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements.

7. Strategic Contribution

  • Participate in technology roadmaps for cabinet integration (e.g., collaborate with global teams for standardization, modular designs, improvements etc.).
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Contribute to supplier development strategies to strengthen long-term supply chain stability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Mech. Engineering
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in manufacturing / integration of control system cabinets and instrument racks and enclosures (field instruments & Analyzers).
  • Knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA architectures and industrial automation standards.
  • Knowledge or Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Eldes) and ERP/MRP systems (SAP).
  • Conversant on best Quality practices in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, supplier management, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of electrical integration, wiring practices, and industrial standards. Understanding and experience in instrument racks/ enclosures integration involving tubing, piping and connectivity of analyzer components.
