Job Description

Thank you for your interest in the Assistant High School Football Coaching position. This seasonal position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the head coach and other staff members to foster a positive team environment, enhance player skills, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing effective practice sessions and game strategies.
- Provide instruction and support to student-athletes in skill development, conditioning, and game preparation.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance their growth.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to develop game plans and strategies for each opponent.
- Help maintain a safe and organized practice and game environment.
- Foster positive relationships with student-athletes, encouraging teamwork, discipline, and respect.
- Assist in the management of team logistics, including equipment inventory and transportation arrangements.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies and expectations.
- Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required.
- Uphold the values and mission of the school and athletic program.

Requirements
- Previous experience in coaching or playing football at the high school level or higher.
- Strong understanding of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the football season.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
- Passion for youth development and a commitment to student-athlete success.
