Job Description

The Analyst - Post Closing is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and maintaining loan documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accessibility across operational systems. This role supports internal and external stakeholders by executing defined processes, maintaining detailed records, and contributing to a high quality servicing and closing operation. The analyst works independently with guidance, applying attention to detail and sound judgment to meet operational and compliance.

The People You Will Work With

The position will report directly to the Senior Manager - Servicing and Closing and will directly liaison with other members of the Operations team as well as Loan Accounting, Underwriting, Relationship Managers, Business Development, and Legal departments.

Where and When You Will Work

The position will be based in the Farmer Mac Johnston, Iowa, location. Core business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Central. Work outside of these times may be needed for planned and unplanned activities and to complete time sensitive projects.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review loan documents and data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform data entry and validation within company systems to ensure accurate and accessible records.
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain loan documentation and supporting files.
  • Follow defined operational processes and make basic adjustments to meet service‑level and quality standards.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure document retention requirements are met.
  • Identify discrepancies or missing information and escalate appropriately.
  • Support operational compliance activities and audits as required.
  • Provide positive, professional experience for internal clients through timely and courteous communication.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of agricultural lending products.
  • Knowledge of land surveys, legal descriptions, and title insurance specific to agricultural properties.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with loan systems and documentation tools.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of commercial or agricultural mortgage closing experience, legal assistant/paralegal experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The typical starting salary range for this position is between $58,000-68,000, although wages can vary based on experience and geography.
