Job Description

We’re looking for a Database Administrator who doesn’t just keep systems alive; you make them reliable, secure, and ready for what’s next.

At Aviture, we build software that has to work. Government systems, commercial platforms, high-stakes environments where downtime isn’t just inconvenient.  It’s unacceptable. That means the data layer matters. A lot. We’re looking for someone who can own that layer end-to-end: from keeping legacy systems stable to helping modern platforms scale.

This role is a part of a remote program, but you won’t be working in a vacuum. You’ll be embedded with delivery teams supporting real programs, starting with a large-scale recruiting system used worldwide. It’s a mix of old and new: an Oracle-backed legacy platform alongside a transition to modern CRM systems like Salesforce. Your job is to keep everything running while helping us move things forward, without breaking what already works.

This isn’t a “set it and forget it” database role. This is hands-on, in the weeds, making sure the foundation holds while everything around it evolves.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

  • Managing and administering database environments across applications by provisioning, configuring, and tuning for performance that holds up under real use.
  • Keeping legacy Oracle systems stable and secure while supporting modernization efforts and system transitions.
  • Planning and executing database patching and upgrades without disrupting mission-critical operations.
  • Designing and maintaining backup and recovery strategies that actually work when you need them.
  • Monitoring database health, performance, and availability, and fixing problems before anyone else notices them.
  • Implementing and enforcing database security controls (access, auditing, encryption) in regulated environments.
  • Working closely with developers, DevOps, and program teams to make sure data systems support how applications are actually built and used.
  • Documenting what matters so that systems are maintainable, auditable, and not dependent on tribal knowledge.

Why You’ll Like It Here:

Aviture is a tech company that actually builds things, and we don’t shy away from complexity. You’ll be working on systems that matter, with people who take ownership and expect you to do the same.

We value autonomy, practical thinking, and people who don’t wait to be told what to fix. There’s not a lot of red tape here, but there is a lot of trust. If you take pride in keeping critical systems running, and making them better over time, let’s build something together that lasts.
