    Primary Purpose:

    To assist in the development and implementation of the various curriculum programs within the framework
    established by Board policy.

    Prerequisites:

     
    • Master’s degree;
    • Professional Mid-Management Certificate; Administrator Certificate; or Principal Certificate preferred
     

    Prerequisites:

     
    • Three (3) years classroom teaching experience.
     

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

     
    1. Attend Curriculum and Instruction meetings as scheduled.
     
    1. Coordinate with the campus principal to provide direction and supervision of curricular and instructional programs for the school.
     
    1. Maintain a regular schedule for classroom visitation and walk-throughs to ensure quality teaching and curriculum implementation.
     
    1. Coordinate with the district staff development coordinator in the planning of campus, department, and individual teacher training needs.
     
    1. Conduct core area subject teacher meetings to review curriculum and instruction issues.
     
    1. Develop, analyze, and evaluate benchmark assessments and all other student evaluation data.
     
    1. Meet with teachers to identify target areas of need for all student populations and to develop a plan of action.
     
    1. Monitor teachers’ lesson plans to ensure curriculum alignment.
     
    1. Monitor teachers’ grade books to ensure that Board policy regarding grades and re-teach process is in compliance.
     
    1. Monitor three-week progress report, nine-week report cards, failure rates, benchmark tests, attendance, and maintain information in student folders.
     
    1. Attend department meetings.
     
    1. Maintain documentation of all meetings and staff development to review with the campus principal and director for secondary curriculum.
     
    1. Assist the principal in conducting yearly and on-going campus needs assessment relevant to curriculum and instruction.
     
    1. Knowledgeable of all Special Population programs and procedures in order to assist teachers in making best decisions for student learning.
     
    1. Work closely with counselors to ensure that students are assigned to appropriate core subjects to meet graduation requirements.
     
    1. Monitor to ensure that effective tutorials are offered to qualifying students.
     
    1. Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences as needed for designated teacher appraisal system.
     
    1. Other duties specific to curriculum and instruction as assigned.
