Overview:
To provide instructional support and high-quality education instruction that will enable all students to meet the state student performance standards through research-based mathematics, reading, and/or science programs, activities, or strategies; research-based small-group instruction programs, activities, or strategies; professional development, tutorials, computer-aided instruction, extended-learning opportunities, and/or parent involvement programs, activities, or strategies as directed by the campus principal in collaboration with the appropriate District Intervention Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas teaching credentials in order to meet the state and federal definitions of "highly qualified" in the area and grade level of assignment(s)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong subject area content knowledge as appropriate to assignment
Exceptional communication skills
Knowledge and experience in curriculum and instructional strategy implementation
Knowledge and experience with rigorous curriculum and instructional strategies
Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and research-based best practices
Evidence of skills in planning, organization, and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of effective professional development practices
Passion for increasing student learning
Experience using student and campus level data to select, implement and differentiate instructional methods, designed to meet each student's individual needs
Experience:
At least 3 year of recent successful classroom teaching experience in the appropriate subject
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide support/mentoring/coaching/training for identified teachers
2. Help conduct needs analysis to identify teaching and learning needs and help organize and implement problem-solving strategies with teachers
3. Help provide training and coaching as requested by the campus principal in areas that include but are not limited to: effective instruction, differentiation, and data-driven instruction.
4. Assist with design and implementation of high-quality building-level professional development
5. Work with teachers (in-teams or individually) to refine their knowledge and skills. Methods of instruction may include in-class coaching, peer observation, co-teaching, and modeling effective instruction using a gradual release structure.
6. Work with teachers to assist with the structure of planning time to ensure effectiveness
7. Facilitate protocols for assessment of student work to drive instructional decisions
8. Assist with the design and implementation of lesson planning and common assessment.
9. Assist with integration of TEKS into curriculum focal points
10. Provide instruction to small groups, individuals, and/or through technology as appropriate
Salary: Starting teacher salary $63,810 (2025-26 Teacher Comp Plan)
